Beschrijving
The Interceptor was the brainchild of the small yet ambitious workshop of Jensen Motors in West Bromwich. While Aston Martin and Jaguar had already made their mark, Jensen pursued a different path: exclusivity in small numbers, paired with a design that stood out from the crowd.
For the bodywork, Jensen turned to Carrozzeria Touring of Milan — the result was a masterpiece of flowing lines and perfect proportions, crowned by the Interceptor’s signature feature: a sweeping panoramic rear window, both practical and spectacular at once.
The Interceptor II, introduced in 1969, brought subtle refinements — a more sophisticated interior, improved cooling, and a modernised dashboard. Under the bonnet remained the impressive Chrysler V8, delivering its power with characteristic depth — smooth yet authoritative.
This particular example dates from 1970, and has been registered in the Netherlands since 1993. Around fifteen years ago, the Jensen underwent a careful restoration, preserving its originality throughout. The quality is immediately evident — just look underneath, and you’ll be amazed. Both body and mechanics were comprehensively restored, with full photographic documentation. Among the images, the engine during its rebuildstands out — the new pistons gleaming in place. Simply beautiful.
It’s hardly surprising that the engine sounds as fit and potent as it feels.
Beneath the long bonnet lies the Chrysler V8, equipped with a new Edelbrock carburettor and a full stainless-steel exhaust system. The automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive make this a relaxed yet capable grand tourer.
The bodywork remains in fine condition, as do the stainless and chrome details. The interior is original and shows a lovely patina; only the headlining has been renewed. All instruments function as they should. Air conditioning is fitted, though currently not operational. The original Rostyle wheels are in good order and fitted with Dunlop tyres.
Are there any drawbacks to this British GT, one might ask? Naturally, there are always a few details to mention. The automatic gearbox shifts a little slowly — a well-known characteristic of this model. There’s also a small scratch on the bonnet and a few minor imperfections around the right rear wheel arch.
Several valuation reports accompany the Jensen, covering its history from the start of the restoration up to 2025. The most recent report, dated July 2025, rates the car in condition 2+ with an insured value of €62,000.
There’s much more to be said about this remarkable Jensen, but you’ll only truly appreciate it once you’ve seen and driven the car yourself. You’re very welcome to visit us in Uden, by appointment — and yes, the coffee will be ready.
