In de historie van de klassieke auto’s is de Austin Healey 3000 zonder twijfel een van de meest populaire sportwagens. Dit komt niet alleen door het schitterende en stijlvolle lijnenspel, maar ook zeker door de krachtige 6-cilinder in lijn motor die in de motorruimte ligt. Deze in 1964 geproduceerde Austin-Healey 3000 is een van de laatste MKII uitvoeringen. Het gaat hier om de BJ7 uitvoering, dus de 2 + 2 zits versie.

Deze schitterende Austin Healey 3000 is in uitzonderlijk mooie conditie. De prachtige kleur Healey blue vormt een perfecte combinatie met het donkerblauw lederen interieur. Oorspronkelijk is deze Austin Healey geleverd naar Virginia Verenigde Staten en in 1988 is deze auto in Nederland gekomen. Na een uitgebreide en zeer grondige body-off restauratie (verschillende foto’s aanwezig) en waarbij motorblok en versnellingsbak ook zijn gereviseerd, is de auto in 1994 op nederlands kenteken gezet. De laatste eigenaar heeft de auto al vanaf 1996 (dus bijna 30 jaar!) in bezit gehad en heeft deze ‘Big-Healey’ met zeer veel zorg en liefde onderhouden. Dat is niet alleen zichtbaar aan de uitstekende conditie van de auto zelf, maar ook aan de vele onderhoudsfacturen die bij de auto aanwezig zijn.

Als een auto, na een grondige restauratie, er na ongeveer 30 jaar nog steeds zo goed uitziet, dan zegt dat heel veel over de zeer goede kwaliteit van de restauratie zelf. De carrosserie is in zeer goede staat en de stijlvolle kleur Healey blue heeft nog steeds een zeer diepe en schitterende glans. Ook het chroomwerk en de diverse sierdelen zijn nog in zeer goede staat. Dit geldt ook voor de rubberdelen en afwerkingen. Bij de auto is ook nog een stijlvol verchroomd kofferrek beschikbaar. De bijzonder fraaie, verchroomde spaakvelgen geven deze auto extra klasse. Ook de badgebar aan de voorzijde in combinatie met de Lucas verstralers geven de auto een extra sportief karakter. De carrosseriedelen sluiten bijzonder goed op elkaar aan en de portieren sluiten goed en degelijk. De donkerblauwe cabrioletkap is in zeer goede conditie. Er is ook nog een donkerblauwe tonneau bij de auto aanwezig, deze is ook nog in zeer goede staat (bijna nieuw).

Het schitterende donkerblauwe interieur is prachtig om te zien. Het is in uitzonderlijk goede staat en de stoelen zitten bijzonder comfortabel en goed. Ook de donkerblauwe vloerbekleding is in zeer goede conditie. Ook aan het interieur is goed te zien dat er met veel liefde voor deze Austin Healey is gezorgd. Het dashboard is in zeer goede staat en alle instrumenten werken naar behoren. De auto is ook voorzien van een mooie klassieke Tripmaster. Het stijlvolle Moto Lita stuurwiel met houten rand is niet alleen fraai om te zien, maar ligt ook lekker stevig in de handen. De diverse chroom- en sierdelen in het interieur zijn nog in zeer goede en glanzende conditie.

Als we de motorkap open doen, zien we een keurig verzorgde en goed onderhouden motorruimte. Het prachtige 6-cilinder in lijn motorblok loopt bijzonder soepel en rustig. Deze Austin Healey is ook voorzien van een extra (elektrisch te schakelen) koelventilator. Verder is deze auto ook voorzien van een elektronische ontsteking. Deze Austin Healey 3000 rijdt bijzonder soepel en heerlijk en het schakelen gaat ook trefzeker en soepel. De aanwezige overdrive zorgt voor extra comfort op hogere snelheden. De remmen voelen stevig en goed aan en ook de stuurinrichting voelt heel goed en degelijk aan.

Zonder twijfel is dit niet alleen schitterende Austin Healey om te zien, maar ook nog eens een bijzonder voortreffelijk onderhouden auto.

In the history of classic cars, the Austin Healey 3000 is without a doubt one of the most popular sports cars. This is not only due to the beautiful and stylish lines, but also certainly due to the powerful 6-cylinder in-line engine in the engine compartment. This Austin-Healey 3000, produced in 1964, is one of the last MKII versions. This is the BJ7 version, so the 2 + 2 seater version.

This beautiful Austin Healey 3000 is in exceptionally beautiful condition. The beautiful color Healey blue is a perfect combination with the dark blue leather interior. Originally, this Austin Healey was delivered to Virginia, United States and in 1988 this car came to the Netherlands. After an extensive and very thorough body-off restoration (various photos available) and in which the engine block and gearbox were also overhauled, the car was registered in the Netherlands in 1994. This also applies to the rubber parts and finishes. A stylish chrome luggage rack is also available with the car. The particularly beautiful, chrome spoke rims give this car extra class. The badge bar at the front in combination with the Lucas spotlights also give the car an extra sporty character. The body parts fit together very well and the doors close well and securely. The dark blue convertible top is in very good condition. There is also a dark blue tonneau with the car, which is also still in very good condition (almost new).

The beautiful dark blue interior is beautiful to see. It is in exceptionally good condition and the seats are particularly comfortable and good. The dark blue carpeting is also in very good condition. The interior also clearly shows that this Austin Healey has been cared for with a lot of love. The dashboard is in very good condition and all instruments work properly. The car is also equipped with a beautiful classic Tripmaster. The stylish Moto Lita steering wheel with wooden rim is not only beautiful to look at, but also feels nice and firm in the hands. The various chrome and trim parts in the interior are still in very good and shiny condition.

When we open the hood, we see a neatly maintained engine compartment. The beautiful 6-cylinder in-line engine block runs particularly smoothly and quietly. This Austin Healey is also equipped with an extra (electrically switchable) cooling fan. Furthermore, this car is also equipped with an electronic ignition. This Austin Healey 3000 drives very smoothly and wonderfully and the shifting is also accurate and smooth. The overdrive provides extra comfort at higher speeds. The brakes feel firm and good and the steering also feels very good and solid.

Without a doubt, this is not only a beautiful Austin Healey to look at, but also a particularly excellently maintained car.
