MGB 1.8 Roadster overdrive

Schitterende MGB in de perfecte kleur British Racing Green. Deze auto is in 1969 geproduceerd voor de VS markt en heeft zijn eerste leven in het zonnige en droge Californië doorgebracht. In de jaren 90 is deze auto naar Nederland gehaald en volledig gerestaureerd. Hierbij is de auto gelukkig zo veel mogelijk origineel gehouden. De auto is sindsdien met veel zorg en liefde onderhouden en dat is goed zichtbaar aan de auto zelf. Dit blijkt ook uit de zeer uitgebreide aanwezige onderhoudshistorie.
Deze stijlvolle MGB is nog in zeer goede conditie. Het feit dat hij in een verwarmde garage is gestald heeft hier aan bijgedragen en regen heeft deze auto zeer weinig gezien in zijn lange leven. De prachtige kleur Britisch Racing Green (de donkere versie voor de kenners) heeft een diepe en mooie glans met hier en daar uiteraard wat lichte gebruikssporen. Ook de diverse chroom- en sierdelen zijn nog in prima staat. De stijlvolle spaakvelgen vormen een perfecte combinatie met de carrosseriekleur. Alle carrosseriedelen sluiten nog mooi op elkaar aan en de portieren sluiten goed. Ook de cabrioletkap is in een zeer goede conditie.
En dan het interieur! Prachtig gerestaureerd in originele staat. De zwart (kunst)leren stoelen zitten comfortabel en zijn tweevoudig verstelbaar. Alle instrumenten werken naar behoren zo ook de verlichting. Het prachtige banjo-stuur geeft die echte klassieke uitstraling en een werkende Becker radio maakt het verhaal compleet. De chroom- en sierdelen zijn in nette staat en ook de vloerbedekking en vloermatten met MG logo zijn nog bijzonder netjes. Al met al is het in- en exterieur zeer goed onderhouden sinds de restauratie.
Technisch is deze auto echt heel goed. Onder de motorkap ziet alles er netjes uit. De motor start direct, loopt zeer soepel en rustig en de auto rijdt heerlijk. De remmen voelen duidelijk en stevig en de auto stuurt direct en soepel. De vierbak met overdrive schakelt heerlijk en die overdrive zorgt voor lagere toeren bij hogere snelheden waardoor langere afstanden een stuk comfortabeler zijn.
Al met al een prachtige auto om te zien en heerlijk om mee te rijden.


Superb MGB in the perfect colour British Racing Green. This car was produced in 1969 for the USA market and spent its first life in sunny and dry California. In the 90s this car was brought to the Netherlands and completely restored. Fortunately, the car has been kept original as much as possible. The car has since been maintained with great care and love and that is clearly visible in the car itself. This is also evident from the very extensive maintenance history available.
This stylish MGB is still in very good condition. The fact that it has been stored in a heated garage has contributed to this and this car has seen very little rain in its long life. The beautiful color British Racing Green (the dark version for the connoisseurs) has a deep and beautiful shine with some light signs of wear here and there. The various chrome and decorative parts are also still in excellent condition. The stylish wire rims are a perfect combination with the body colour. All body parts still fit together nicely and the doors close well. The convertible top is also in very good condition.
And then the interior! Beautifully restored in original condition. The black (faux) leather seats are comfortable and can be adjusted in two ways. All instruments work properly, including the lighting. The beautiful banjo steering wheel gives that real classic look and a working Becker radio completes the story. The chrome and trim parts are in neat condition and the carpeting and floor mats with MG logo are also very neat. All in all, the interior and exterior have been very well maintained since the restoration.
Technically this car is really very good. Under the bonnet, everything looks neat. The engine starts immediately, runs very smoothly and quietly and the car drives wonderfully. The brakes feel clear and firm and the car steers directly and smoothly. The four-speed gearbox with overdrive shifts wonderfully and that overdrive ensures lower revs at higher speeds, making longer distances a lot more comfortable.
All in all a beautiful car to look at and wonderful to drive.
