First Series BMW 745i E23. A very rare car these days!
Now available at Oldenzaal Classics after we've recently discovered this 745i at an Italian BMW collector.
Sold new through BMW dealer Aicardi Srl in Milan, Italy. It belonged to a Milanese engineer who, after 4 years, sold it to a friend, also an engineer from Milan who used it only as a “Sunday car” exclusively for out-of-town trips and holidays until 2006/7.
Around 2004 the car underwent a major overhaul at a BMW dealership, the expense was significant. The car's engine was either rebuilt replaced with a factory new BMW AT engine. One can see the engine block is extremely clean and looking new. The turbo was replaced, the engine radiator is new as are all the exhausts, the power-steering pump, the automatic transmission oil, all fluids, hoses, etc.
Since that work, the car has driven, according to the owner, about 5000 km, and because of the owner’s age it was kept in the garage of his summer house in Riccione, Italy from 2008, covered with a cover stored in the trunk, starting it once a month until he decided to sell it in 2018 due to complete lack of use.
After discovery in 2018, the brakes were partially seized due to non-use on the road for about ten years, so a complete overhaul of the 4 calipers was carried out, and the original BMW brake pump was replaced. The fuel tank was also replaced with a new original BMW unit (€994!!) to prevent internal rust from damaging the injectors, and a full service was performed. On the road the car drives perfectly and is extremely impressive, with the same performance feeling as a new 745i.
The car we're offering today is a very original, very solid and cared after E23 745i. No rust, never welded on and with a great condition throughout. The paint does show it's age and it has scratches and touch-ups performed. One of the few remaining nice and unrestored 745i's left on the globe.
