In 2022 vierde Volkswagen een bijzondere mijlpaal: 45 jaar Golf GTI. Wat ooit begon als een experimentele sportieve hatchback groeide uit tot een wereldwijde autolegende. Ter ere van dit jubileum bracht Volkswagen een speciale uitvoering op de markt: de Golf GTI Clubsport 45 Jahre Edition. Deze auto is niet zomaar een GTI, maar een eerbetoon aan bijna een halve eeuw rijplezier, techniek en karakter.

De 45 Jahre is gebaseerd op de GTI Clubsport, de krachtigste voorwielaangedreven variant van de Golf op dat moment. Onder de motorkap ligt een 2.0-liter TSI turbomotor met 300 pk en 400 Nm koppel. In combinatie met een 7-traps DSG-automaat sprint hij van 0 naar 100 km/u in ongeveer 5,6 seconden. Dankzij het elektronische VAQ-sperdifferentieel, de sportieve afstelling en adaptieve dempers biedt de auto een precieze en meeslepende rijervaring die helemaal in lijn ligt met het GTI-DNA.

Wat deze 45 Jahre-editie echt speciaal maakt, zijn de exclusieve details. Denk aan een zwarte dakspoiler, speciale striping langs de flanken, een panoramisch glazen dak en zwarte 19-inch Scottsdale-velgen die enkel op dit model leverbaar waren. De titanium sportuitlaat van Akrapovič zorgt niet alleen voor minder gewicht, maar ook voor een diepere, sportievere sound die perfect past bij zijn prestaties.
