Concours-quality restoration by G.P.S Classic and Carrozzeria Quality Cars in Padova.
The Lancia Flaminia Sport Zagato stands as a testament to automotive elegance, its all-aluminium body crafted by Zagato exuding magnificence. Paired with the iconic double bubble roof atop the shortened chassis, this Lancia transcends mere transportation to become a true styling icon.
Enhancing its allure is a concours-quality restoration, elevating this Zagato-bodied Lancia to a level far beyond its counterparts. Originally introduced in 1957 as the successor to the Aurelia, the Flaminia was offered in various configurations throughout its production, including saloon, coupe, and cabriolet. Among these, the Flaminia Sport holds a special place, distinguished by its two-seater layout on a shortened wheelbase chassis.
These coveted Flaminia Sports, particularly those clothed in aluminium by Zagato, feature the signature 'double-bubble' roof design, enhancing both aesthetics and aerodynamics. Powering these masterpieces is Lancia's smooth V6 engine, meticulously designed by Francesco De Virgilio, longitudinally mounted to propel the rear wheels through a four-speed transaxle.
The exemplar we present here, a Lancia Flaminia Sport Zagato, rolled off the assembly line on May 18, 1961, boasting an original finish of Argento Anteuil with Pelle Chiara interior, as authenticated by the accompanying Lancia Classiche Certificato di Origine. Initially owned by Giorgio Lapi of Firenze, it exchanged hands among several Italian enthusiasts before finding stewardship under Paolo Scopino for over three decades, until 2013.
Subsequently passing through the hands of Romano Marchioni and undergoing a meticulous concourse restoration by Carrozzeria Quality Cars of Padova and GPS Classic, this Lancia now emerges in impeccable condition, every component meticulously attended to. This exemplar, now in possession of a renowned Belgian collector, awaits a new passionate and enthusiast, ready to share in the legacy of this uniquely storied and impeccably restored automotive masterpiece.
